Mr. Avila has 10 years of diverse real estate experience, including over 2 years of principal-side investment management experience working for real estate private equity firms. Most recently, Mr. Avila was an Acquisitions Analyst and Asset Manager for BCEGI, a firm based in Los Angeles, in which he closed a $125 million new development deal. In the asset management role, he had a portfolio worth of $650 million in multifamily, senior living and student housing.
Prior to BCEGI, Mr. Avila was in a real estate private equity firm, called Highpoint Capital, that focused on Retail/shopping center assets. While at Highpoint Capital, Mr. Avila was active in the acquisition of a San Diego shopping center worth $20 million. Other than being active in acquisitions, he was also active in the asset management role, which he had a portfolio of $230 million.
Prior to working in Private Equity firms, he worked as a realtor, in Los Angeles, for over 2 years. Prior to working as a realtor, he also worked as an Assistant Project Manager for over 4 years in a construction company, where he was helping with projects worth up to $15 million. Prior to this, he worked for Bank of America as a residential underwriter, in which he created an underwriting program for the company to use, which increased productivity by 50% while maintaining 100% quality. After implementing the program for the whole company to use, and traveling the country to train everyone, he was given multiple gold awards for innovation and leadership.
Mr. Avila earned his double Bachelor of Science in Finance and another in Business Administration of Real Estate from California State University in Northridge.
